Lessie Mae Duke, 81, of Walter, passed away on May 31, 2020. She was born May 18, 1939, to Coy Lee and Maggie Elrod Hudson in Marshall County, Alabama.
Ms. Duke loved to work in her yard. She spent many hours making her yard beautiful. Lessie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the mother of five, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of seven. She was a woman with a good heart and she will be missed greatly.
Ms. Duke is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, and two sons, James and David Crumbly.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Duke and wife, Connie, and Rickey Duke; daughter, Linda Landman and her husband, Willie; grandchildren, Leslie Bell, Tammy Price, Michael Duke, Patrick Duke, Joseph Nabors, Megan Hinkle; great-grandchildren, Dakota Price, Corey Bell, Caleb Price, Cohen Duke, Mykel Bell, Luke Williams, and Daxton Nabors.
Funeral services for Ms. Duke are 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2020, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to services, from 10 a.m., until services began. Burial will follow in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery.
